Here are few pictures from my recent trip to San Diego in July, 2014. RSG UK is pleased to announce that the call is now open for the submission of abstracts to the first ISCB Regional Student Group UK Symposium on Computational Biology and Life Sciences, to be held on 8th October 2014 at the University of South Wales.
We hope for the Symposium to be a forum for students, post docs, and young researchers in the fields of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics. Participants will have the opportunity to attend lectures by several key-note speakers and post-docs, build a network within the computational biology community of the UK and develop important soft skills in a workshop held on the second day of the Symposium.
Key-note speakers include:
Prof. Tatiana Tatarinova, University of Southern California, USA
Dr. Alex Bateman, EMBL-EBI, Cambridge, UK
Dr. Natasha De Vere, National Botanic Gardens of Wales, UK
Dr. Christopher Creevey, University of Aberystwyth, UK
We encourage you to submit an abstract to showcase your work at the Symposium’s poster session. Awards will be given to outstanding posters. Travel fellowships will be available and candidates with accepted abstracts will be invited to apply.
